Adapting housing to the needs of the ageing population still conjures up an image of the fitting of equipment inspired by a hospital environment and this perception continues to generate anxiety amongst the elderly and their family. In order to change this image, just as the generational composition of our society is being transformed in silence, then there is a need to promote and to undertake large-scale public action that proposes a confident and dynamic vision of ageing within the context of everyday life spent at home, looking beyond health issues and advertisements that abound with possible adventures for the elderly.
Should promotion of these concepts be the first stage or the conclusion? In any case, this is absolutely necessary in order to ensure that as many people as possible confidently embrace the idea that old age has a future, both from an individual and a collective point of view, with housing as an integral part of our everyday live.
